Long overdue update!

Did you know that it snowed here? About a month ago we had a storm, or rather a succession of storms, move in for about 5 days worth of bad weather. Snow, more snow, and freezing rain to top it all off. Luckily, we didn't lose power. That's quire a contrast to the days when even the smallest storm would knock our power out, usually for days at a time. While the snow was falling I worked from home, avoiding traveling up and down the poorly-cleared hills of the Seattle area. I also baked, watched the birds that were flocking to our feeder, and tried to keep energetic Alice from driving everyone nuts.

This bird is a new addition to our winter visitors--first time I've seen one around here at least! And it seems as if we have more than one of them! It is a Townsend's warbler. Beautiful bird!

And then we have the Dark-eyed Junco. Very common, pretty cute.

And then we have the Anna's Hummingbird. The juice in the hummingbird feeders froze quickly in the low temperatures we had, but we did our best to keep them thawed so these little guys had something to drink!
